It's been a while, but we have been very busy. We are in the process of simplifying our websites with all new interfaces. You'll start to see the changes over the next few weeks. Our goal is to simplify the purchasing experience along with updated logos and graphical interface. We have completed a new helpdesk model due to be released over the next weekend or sooner as we fine tune the new product. Our new helpdesk is in the process of final testing and our next focus will be on email and our commercial site. Navigation has been simplified for main purchases and a lot of the other services moved to the bottom of our pages to remove confusion  on where to go. Stay tuned as we start to implement these new features. We will also be offering consulting services for our local customers.

I've spent 12 hours working on our spam filtering this weekend, and after examining the logs it appears we finally have it adjusted to where you should start to see minimum spam coming in. However, in adjusting the filters wev'e noticed some domains being blocked that we knew belonged to list servers and businesses that send you traffic on a regular basis were also being blocked. Those that we could identify we have white listed.

There are two ways to unblock these sites. The first is for you to send an email to the address of email service. The second and easiest way is to send me a list of those email addresses and I'll see to it that those domains are whitelisted. Even after whitelisting they may show up in your in box as spam, but they will go through.

If they show up as spam with the "*****SPAM*****" tag attached, the original email will be attached. You can drag and drop it into your inbox of your email client and open it. This is a new feature of the updated spam filter to protect you from phishing. Phishing is a form of email that attaches to your mail box and tries to capture either personal information on your workstation or email addresses from your address book. Some may be just be a return address to let them know your email address is still good and they can send mail to you.

Corporate accounts should notify their employees in the changes made, so they can forward us any domains or email addresses that need to be whitelisted. The way the filters work is that if it is a legitimate email coming through that you respond to it will automatically be added to its whitelist when you answer the email. If the email is coming from a site that is blacklisted either on the server or through one of the blacklist databases we subscribe to, it will be deleted and bounced back to the sender. The problem will have to be addressed by the sender and corrected. We will work with them to find out why it was returned. Sometimes, it can be as simple as phishing software attached to their account attaching to their email and being forwarded to you. In this case they will need to clean their computer with software designed to eliminate the problem. In other cases there may be a problem with the way their email server is sending mail that is causing them to be blacklisted. This will require them to get their email administrator involved.

Thank you all for your patience in this matter. We are serious defenders against SPAM.

There will be a brief outage on Thursday May 17th to upgrade some of the hardware in our system. This work will be done in the evening to minimize impact to our commercial users. During this time websites or email may not be unavailable to our clients. We expect the outage for any one service to be no more than 20 to 30 minutes. These outages are to increase performance of our existing equipment.

Today we added a new website http://www.badgerwebhosting.org  to our family. Badgerwebhosting.org will be exclusively for non-profit organizations to purchase services from our company. It will require them to send us a copy of their 501(c)3 certificate to allow them to purchase at discounted rates. This is another way Badger Web Hosting supports our non-profits.

Today we launch an Email Only site at http://www.badgerwebhosting.net. This comes from many requests by companies to use our email services. At the moment we are only supporting corporate email accounts, but in the near future we will be able to offer personal email accounts at low annual rates. If you get a chance visit our new site.

We've upgraded the email system. You can now synchronize your outlook from a web download inside your web mail. Also we added spell check in several languages and you can customize your screen to a language of your flavor. In corporate accounts you have a global address book and you can share files, folders and calendars. There are many more features too many to name here. When you get a chance logon to your web email and browse the new features.

We converted all stats to a single format this date. AWSTATS is now the statistical engine in use. This was done to standardize statistics throughout all the domains. You can access your stats through the helm control panel.
